Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Assist with entering expenditures by funding source into the accounting software.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles and closes accounts on a monthly system.
  • Enters indirect cost allocations into the accounting software.
  • Track payroll cost allocations and entering payroll data into the accounting software.
  • Oversee budget tracking and prepping monthly reports by funding source.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Track cash receipts including tuition payments, donations, and grant revenue receipts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, verifies deposits and addresses inquiries from banks.
  • Ensure accounting software balance to all cash accounts
  • Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties as necessary.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business related field. 
  • Knowledge of general principles of accounting and financial reporting.
  • Three years of nonprofit accounting experience.
  • Successful completion of a University-administered 490-level Hawaiian language proficiency course.
