Assistant Controller

American Floor and Home (formerly known as American Carpet One Floor and Home) is looking for an Assistant Controller to lead our accounting team and ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

• ✔ Lead and support the accounting team while working with outside consultants
• ✔ Oversee financials: general ledger, AP/AR, reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and sales tax compliance
• ✔ Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations
• ✔ Conduct variance analysis and improve accounting processes
• ✔ Manage ERP/accounting systems (RFMS preferred)
• ✔ Foster financial transparency in our open-book management culture
• ✔ Manage inventory accounting and job costing
• ✔ Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

• ✔ Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Business, other relevant field  (Required)
• ✔ 3-7 years of financial experience in larger or locally-owned organizations (ESOP experience preferred)
• ✔ CPA, CMA, or MBA (Preferred)
• ✔ Experience in manufacturing, retail, wholesale, or construction (Preferred)
• ✔ Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Location:

We are only considering candidates located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The position may require regular office work and occasional offsite travel for events, meetings, and training.

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, exempt, “at-will” position, typically requiring 45–50 hours per week. Salary range: $80 - $115K, based on market data, skills, and experience. Comprehensive benefits are also provided.
