Fund Development Director Maria Lanakila Church/Sacred Hearts School

Overall Responsibility

The Fund Development Director is responsible for raising funds to support Maria Lanakila Church and Sacred Hearts School in Lahaina, particularly in response to the recovery and rebuilding efforts following the Lahaina Wildfire in August 2023 and consistent with the gospel mission to provide vulnerable families access to quality Catholic education, fostering both spiritual and academic growth in the community.

Reports to: Pastor Classification: Non-Exempt/Full-time

Position Summary

· Lead the development of fundraising goals including short-term, long-term fundraising goals and timelines (e.g. tuition assistance and capital campaigns plus endowments).

· Coordinate with parish, school and other stakeholders to execute an annual fundraising plan to meet annual fund development goals including events and other activities.

· Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual, foundation and corporate donors and secures financial support from them to meet both short- and long-term needs.

· Develop and distribute marketing and promotional materials, ensuring consistent messaging and branding across all platforms, materials, and community presence.

· Manage and update the donor database, overseeing data entry and gift processing.

· Build and maintain the grant database, coordinates and oversees the grant writing process, and ensures timely reporting.

· Create and participate in engagement opportunities with the community and help serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the parish and school.

· Build on and maintain partnership with Hawaii Catholic Community Foundation

· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

· Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community preferred

· 5-plus years of experience in fundraising and resource development in a non-profit.

· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Communication

· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (and development software)
