IMMEDIATE HIRE AT GYOTAKU NIU VALLEY (5728 Kalanianaole Hwy. Honolulu, HI 96821) FOR SUSHI MAKER TO WORK NIGHT SHIFT (3:00 PM to 9:30PM-10:30PM), PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, TRAINING AVAILABLE.


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sushi Maker to join our dynamic team at our NIU VALLEY location. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities during the night shift. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our customers and are looking for individuals who share our passion for food and service excellence.

Sushi Maker Pay Grades (Plus approx $2 to $4 per hour in tips, depending on sales and shifts worked, higher tips on weekend shifts)

  • Sushi III - Trainee through ability to work maki rollling station expertly $14 - $17/hr.

  • Sushi II - Ability to work maki and nigiri stations expertly $17 - $19/hr.

  • Sushi I - Ability to work maki, nigiri, fish cutting stations expertly $19 - $24/hr.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, with a focus on sushi, according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and setup of kitchen stations before service.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or needs to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Adapt to customer preferences and dietary requirements, ensuring satisfaction and repeat patronage.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Maker in a fast-paced restaurant environment a plus but not required.
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation, including rice cooking, fish cutting, and roll making.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
