Job Description

Kona Brewing Hawaii has an opening for a Associate Marketing Manager in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.  The Associate Marketing Manager's primary role is execute marketing strategies and campaigns that promote the Kona Brewing Hawaii's brand and beers. Support innovation for our emerging brands. Work closely with the marketing and marketing teams, help develop and implement initiatives across digital and tradional channels, track performance, and ensure all efforts align with business goals. This positon offers the opportunity to grow within the marketing field and contribute to the company's overall growth plan.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

Social Media Management:  Manage the day-to-day operations of social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement. Monitor trends and analyze performance to optimize social media strategies.

Event & Activation Coordination: Support the planning and execution of events, including webinars, trade shows, and customer appreciation events. Assist in event promotion and logistics.

Brand Identity Stewardship & Execution: Work with creative agencies and procurement teams to design, develop and execute branded sites, merchandise, and spaces that align with brand visual guidelines and connect with target consumers

Community Giving Program Management: Work with community organizers and key partners to ensure Kona Brewing Hawaii’s charity division remains an integral part of the Hawaii community, manages within its resources, and makes a meaningful impact.

Essential Role Expectations:
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, product, and design teams to align marketing efforts with company-wide objectives and ensure consistent messaging.

Initiative and Ideation: As a part of the team, you’ll be tasked with problem solving on your own, leveraging new ways to reduce barriers, connect with consumers, and drive the business.

Budget Management & Accountability: As an individual contributor to the business, you’ll be tasked with managing certain line items. Ensuring projects stay within budget, or flags are raised early is an important task.

Time & Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Share and Receive Feedback: Expect to share and receive regular updates to and from manager and cross functional teams via status meetings, discuss project and performance feedback for development.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certification(s): Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Finance or Communication

 

Required Experience:
Minimum of five years experience managing marketing or advertising programs, preferably with a CPG company.

Education/Certifications:  Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Business Administration/Communications or another related field is preferred, exceptions could be made for appropriate career experience.

 

Knowledge/Special Skills:  Strong understanding of current social media trends and best practices.  Understanding of consumer-focused marketing philosophies. Responsible budget management and tracking spend. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop, Hootsuite. Goal setting and project management. Strong communications, writing, presentation & public speaking.

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Lifting, carrying full coolers, kegs of beer, equipment - all typical activities associated with marketing events. Continuous mental and visual attention is required as well as performing complex tasks and reporting. Occasionally, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This position may include frequent interruptions, working alone, evening work and working long hours during peak periods. This position is a blend of outdoor and indoor work, and frequent travel for marketing events and sponsorships.  Ability to travel and work nights and weekends (Estimated interisland travel 10% - 30% a month). Must be able to travel in planes and cars for extended periods.
