Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Wailuku location is a 90-bed nursing facility.

 

The Position:

We're looking for a caring and compassionate Substitute Caregiver (Companion) to sustain our Kupuna through hospitable, welcoming personal care, homemaking, and befriending. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct services to the residents of the ARCH, supporting their daily living needs, and supplementing the care of the nurse in a holistic approach to care.
  • Recognize, record, and report to the nurse in a timely manner any significant change in the resident's health status, and/or mental or physical well-being.
  • Demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to adult and geriatric patient populations.

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent / Minimum age of 18
  • Must complete a state approved Nurse Aide Training Program
  • CPR and First Aide Certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification with the State of Hawaii, preferred
  • 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house)
