The Community Engagement and Development Coordinator will build awareness, create community partnerships, and coordinate donations and volunteers to support families affected by the August 2023 Maui wildfires. Based on Maui, the Coordinator will build relationships with local community members and support outreach and engagement strategies to build the organization’s capacity to empower families on their journey to recovery. Working directly with the Director of Donor and Community Relations, this position will be supervised on-island by the Maui Family Services Manager.
This full-time position will begin on January 26, 2025 and end on December 13, 2025, and is offered through a partnership with Kupu and AmeriCorps.
Essential Job FunctionsCommunity Awareness and Engagement (50%)
Engage more community members in service of FPH’s mission by helping to plan and coordinate fundraising and outreach events — including working with vendors, community partners, and other stakeholders — and attending external community events.
Share how FPH’s work is transforming lives by capturing the stories of families served by FPH through photos, videos, and interviews.
Collaborate with the FPH team to cultivate new donors and steward existing donors through events and communications that showcase the impact that donors are making.
Increase awareness of Family Promise of Hawaiʻi by coordinating communications and maintaining a dynamic brand presence through FPH’s social media platforms, email newsletter, website, and other channels.
Volunteer Coordination and Engagement (50%)
Support FPH’s ability to grow and serve more families by coordinating and expanding the frequency of its volunteer opportunities.
Work with the FPH team to recruit, retain, and celebrate volunteers from a variety of sources, including civic groups, schools, businesses, congregations, and more.
Provide an on-site presence for volunteers to organize meals and supplies, coordinate workdays, and record hours.
